Dr. Stadler studied physics and graduated from Vienna University sub auspiciis after writing a doctoral thesis on experimental solid-state physics. After a two-year post-doc residence at HASYLAB/DESY in Hamburg, he returned to his home country to gather first experience in the field of industrial property protection, in particular the patent system, at serv.ip – a company under private law of the Austrian Patent Office. His enthusiasm for the subject led him to join our firm and train as a patent attorney.
Dr. Stadler has been a professional representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney) since 2014, and an Austrian patent attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney since 2016.
The drafting of Austrian, European and international patent applications, with a focus in the areas of physics and mechanical engineering, as well as support in the relevant grant proceedings are elements of his daily work. Dr. Stadler is very popular with our clients because of his meticulous and methodical way of working, which has already been able to lead to the desired outcome in many of the opposition and nullity proceedings and proceedings for the assertion of patents conducted by him.
In addition to supporting trademark and design applications (design protection) as well as pertinent annulment proceedings, Dr. Stadler also regularly assists our clients in the clarification of legal validity and/or possible infringement of property rights, for instance in the form of expert statements or expert opinions.
